There is no denying that New Zealand hops are the Paul Rudd of the lupulin family, they've been around seemingly forever, everyone loves them, and no matter how potentially bad, they make everything they are in great. With Southlands we procured three of our favorite hops from New Zealand we think compliment each other in every possible way; layering in dynamic notes of fresh squeezed pomelo, passion fruit curd, tangerine juice, sauv blanc, aromatic gooseberries, pine needles, lime zest, yuzu oil, lychee jellies, and lightly sugared white grapefruit wedges.
Hops: Nelson, Waimea, Dr. Rudi

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours faintly hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Bright citrus zest, resinous pine, underlying exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, a bit grassy, faint herbal notes, and crackery biscuity malt.

T: Resinous pine, zesty citrus, pomelo, tangerine, and lemon, underlying exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, gooseberry, white grape, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and apricot, subtle grassy herbal notes, crackery biscuity malt, and just a hint of sweetness on a pretty much bone dry finish.

M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, bright and crisp.

O: First few sips are a bit resinous, but once it opens up it's pretty much the perfect beer for a warm day in the sun. (Yes, the first week of 70°F+ in spring counts as warm.) Light and refreshing, but still packs a ton of flavor. They nailed the hop combo and used them beautifully.
