Our Southern Hemisphere juice series slowly keeps growing with its latest addition of Waimea Juice. Quite possibly one of our favorite hops of the decade, we've found that it plays amazingly well with the heavy hitters like Citra and Mosaic; but we've also found it makes a remarkable single-hop all on its own. This hop is fully capable of the juice but with some seriously amazing West Coast-centric tendencies; piling on with complex notes of fresh squeezed tangerine juice, kumquats, white grapefruit, pomelo wedges, mango puree, pineapple flesh, and a hefty dose of pine needle oil.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Citrus zest, a little resinous pine, a touch grassy, tropical and stone fruit, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Zesty citrus juice leads the way, tangerine, grapefruit, and lime, followed by underlying tropical and stone fruit, peach, passion fruit, pineapple, apricot, and mango, a touch grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Just touch on the lighter side of medium body, slightly prickly moderate carbonation, faint touch of hop burn.
O: Pretty much everything you'd want from a NZ hopped IPA. I love how much they pulled out of just a single hop.

When first introduced to this beautiful hazy I thought the Waimea in the name was related to Hawaii (and this would have been a perfect beer to have in my hotel fridge while in HI, although there are a number of excellent breweries in Oahu, e. g. Brew Lab HI /Howzit, but I digress...)
What was I going to write? Damn, the beer is gone and I don't remember the specifics. It was beautiful and delicious, tho.

A juice bomb with a foral scent and a floral, plant-forward taste that leads to a somewhat crisp mouthfeel and pineapple essence. The mouthfeel goes from slight juice bomb to west coast crisp with the above flavors to a nice bitter edge still akin to west coast double IPA. Very enjoyable beer!
