I tried this at the brewery and was very impressed. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had hints of earth and roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with roast and peat presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a solid beer.

Great beer. First taste was a bit strong but quickly smoothed. This is a drinking beer with a high alcohol content. The only problem is enjoying it without getting too drunk. Excellent stout and well made. You will not be disappointed.

The booze is almost hidden, that's about the nicest thing I can say of this one.
It pours near black, and with a foamy head that has some decent retention, but there is the same watery ring present as with the porter.
Nose is lacking - some roasted malt and booze. No vanilla, chocolate, molasses etc.
Flavor is just a mess. Boozy, some roasted malts, but doesn't tie together - would not guess this is an RIS if I wasn't told it was.
A bit chalky, thin, watery.
Not sure what they were going for but I am not a fan.

Poured a black body with a mostly roasted malt aroma but there is some sweetness in the beer. Medium bodied, not too heavy, with caramel/butterscotch like sweetness to balance the roasted edge and overall the balance in this beer is good. Not too flavorful but easy drinking stout that hides ABV well.
