2017 version. Poured a black body with minimal khaki head and lace. Wood, bourbon/booze, hints of vanilla and dark cherry. Boozy, woody smoothness, thick-bodied, has a touch of vanilla and cherry/oak. Strong beer, not best balance, a little rough and the boozy finish doesn't help.

Big Stout. Pours a dense black color into a pint glass. Very small dark brown head (10 Fidy style) that fades fact. only filmy lacing on the glass. Aroma is malty with some bittersweet chocolate and a strong bourbon barrel aroma. Taste is more of the same. Bready malt, slightly sweet, whiskey and wood (probably oak) and a bit of bittersweet chocolate a bit vinuous too (port wine). Mouthfeel is rich and smooth, except for a bit of alcohol burn. A good take on the style. Would have probably benefited from more than 6 months aging. Still a nice drink

This beer does not really match the style. It's more a barleywine, in smell and taste, than a Russian Imperial Stout. So just rename it and you have got fairly decent beer.
