From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON 01/25/24 10:24:59 DRINK MY NUTS"
Appearance: the body is black and even when held up to light there is no sign of color. It has a short tan head which is a bit fizzy and a bit creamy at the same time. It fades out pretty quickly and leaves a medium-small sized ring of foam around the glass. No lacing.
Aroma: There is a bit of a roasted grain aroma to the beer. It has a light acrid burnt aroma but the overall roasted grain scent is pretty good.
Taste: It has a bit of a dark chocolate flavor up front which gets a touch stronger towards the middle of the palate. It has a flavor of roasted grains and a bit of charcoal. A touch of burnt wood and a light hint of pine. It has a lingering, bitter, burnt wood flavor in the aftertaste. After a while a bit of anise flavor starts to develop on the palate which is nice.
Mouthfeel: The body is medium-full with a light bit of slickness. Carbonation feels good and the overall presentation of the beer is pretty nice. It feels enjoyable to drink.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is a "PEANUT BUTTER PORTER LOADED WITH THE NUTTY GOODNESS YOU EXPECT." It tastes nothing like nuts at all. In fact there are many beers on the market that aren't made with nuts that have more nutty character simply from the malt selection. As a Porter it's an alright beer, but as a beer that advertises itself as a "PEANUT BUTTER PORTER" it is a letdown. I wouldn't recommend it or buy it again.
