Fruity Bits - Mango Milkshake

With over 500 lbs of mango puree, plus lactose and vanilla, Fruity Bits Mango Milkshake challenges the limits of both fruit and creaminess in an IPA. FBMM is the latest entry in our Fruity Bits series, where we pair our favorite hop varietals with fruit and other fun adjuncts in a uniquely brewed New England-style IPA. For this iteration, we used nearly 6 lbs/bbl of Citra, Amarillo and Idaho 7 hops, which were a perfect complement to the unreasonable amount of mango puree added to the fermenter. As if NE-style IPAs were not already creamy enough, we added lactose and vanilla to contribute even more creaminess, producing a beer reminiscent of a mango milkshake (and if such a thing does not exist, it should).
