Tropical Punch Berliner

16 oz can, canned on 5/23/18. Pours light ruby red with a medium frothy light pink head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet tropical fruit with a little butyric acid.

The flavor is sweet tropical fruits with a lot of acidic and sour tartness. The mouthfeel is light bodied and a bit watery.

Overall, an OK fruity sour.

 

 

 

a neon pink berliner weiss with things like dragonfruit and kiwi and guava in it, really interesting mix of flavors, but it doesnt taste much like beer to me unfortunately, so while i like it, its more of a juice or a wine cooler than an ale. the lacto side of things is way too clean to be interesting, which is both good and bad (more good), but it takes that element away. a white wheat malt base and not much else, maybe some real basic pils type, but that doesnt add much and is easily overwhelmed by the fruit, of which there is a ton in here. its neat how pink it is and that the dragonfruit isnt candy-like or perfume, which it often can be in beer, and i like that i can taste some general tropical brightness, pretty natural and all, but i definitely want more kiwi, its faint in here, lost too the others in here, but its cool its even here at all, some added tartness there too. it definitely does taste like tropical punch, so credit for that, but i want more grain or yeast or some beer element. its good but it isnt great, and i have enjoyed other sours from these guys quite a bit more, but it tastes good, summery, and drinks easy for a tart beer. neat mix of fruits...
