1-month old can poured into a Spiegelau tulip glass. Received two cans of this along with two cans of Juicy Bits from a friend in Denver.

Look is almost identical to that of Juicy Bits: attractive yellow-orange body with a very nice, opaque (but not chalky or turbid) haze. One finger of bright white head. The head consistency is a soft, pillowy collection of tiny, tightly compact bubbles. Absolutely gorgeous. Collapsed fairly quickly into an even denser film across the top of the beer, and left some solid, spotty lacing rings down the glass.

Sharp aromas of lemon, dank grass, orange marmalade, peach, green tea, and biscuit. Maybe a little evergreen and a little plumb. Little bit of a cat pea, green onion note at the very end. Sounds odd saying this, but the aroma is very much that of a single-hopped beer. Each in-take is a similar experience, and the notes hit you in the same order each time, so there isn't an interweaving of different competing hop profiles. This isn't a good or bad thing, it just is what it is and it matches the expectations for the beer. Overall I would say the nose is pleasant and solid, but not outstanding.

Lemon, sweet citrus, and wheat bread are the first hits to the tongue. A little grapefruit pith, some slightly-unripe berry, a little green grape, and lots of grassiness. The taste is sharp, nicely balanced between sweet and bitter, with a dry, pithy finish. Very clean. I think I actually like the overall taste on this beer a hair more than Juicy Bits, though I know JB is their beloved NE IPA. SF:ED is just remarkably drinkable.

Carbonation level is spot on. Body is a touch on the thin side but still velvety, soft, and supple.

Solid all-around beer that I would certainly never turn down. The creamy head was my favorite part, and I'm not sure I've ever said that about an IPA before.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 05/30/2018

Poured into a Tree House glass a pretty nice cloudy golden pale yellowish color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, lemon, pineapple, peach, mango), nice little diesel like. The taste is really nice, hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, lemon, pineapple, peach, mango), nice little diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very tasty brew. Orange Julius! Addictive! Glad to have gotten a chance to try it.
