Appearance: Arrives the color of midnight (of course) with a thin tan head that hangs around for quite a while, leaving a few shards behind
Smell: Roast and rich chocolate tones with hints of coconut, whiskey and vaniila
Taste: Roast and chocolate forward, with the whiskey, oak and vanilla tones building; the coconut is subtle and is most discernible in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: A very tasty beer but I found it was difficult to detect the coffee in the flavor expression - knocked the score down a tad from my perspective
