Triple India Pale Ale brewed with El Dorado, Strata, Simcoe and Vic Secret Hops

If you're a music lover, you know that feeling of being at a live show, getting to the end of a stellar set and hoping the band will send you off with an absolute rager.

This beer is an homage to precisely that feeling, as well as a shout out to one of the best in all the land, My Morning Jacket! One Big Holiday continues our trend of adjusting and tweaking our approach to TIPA's, resulting in one of the best versions to-date. This one is a mashup of West Coast and Hazy styles, exhibiting a super dry finish and intense, bright hop notes. This one is big, bold and intoxicating - just like MMJ.

On tap. White head with lace. Clear golden color.

Grassy and weedy. Nice dank notes. Piney. Bitter. Some resin in the finish. Boozey. Very flavorful and a nice change from the haze.

16 fl oz pull-tab can:

Its ABV is obvious but not necessarily limiting, though it does invariably impact the beer's drinkability.

A bit oniony from Simcoe, but it's mostly tropically focused hopwise. Floral flavours, overripe tropical fruit (mango, papaya, passionfruit, pineapple). I've never loved pineapple hop flavour in beer, and this is no exception.

Smooth, full-bodied, heavy, wet, well-carbonated, unrefreshing.

I've never really dug the whole marketing gimmick of putting a beer out as a "triple India Pale Ale" (which invites comparisons to the "mere" "double India Pale Ale) when we all know it's just an imperial IPA, and this doesn't change my view that the designation is just a promotional trick. This lacks the hop pungency and depth of hop flavour of even something like Lagunitas Sucks, and it's far from any better than Weldwerks' other imperial IPAs.

I don't dislike it, but its hop profile leaves a lot to be desired.
