Sour Wheat Ale brewed with Black Tea, Honey, Ginger, Lemon, and Turbinado Sugar

Ain't No Hurry is a fun iced tea-inspired sour that should evoke warmer days and simpler times. Reminiscent of carefree times, on a porch or out in nature, with nothing but the gentle rocking chair or hammock to keep you company. This beer starts slightly sour, with notes of earthy black tea, a subtle sweetness of honey, warming ginger, lemon, and a bit more sugar because, well... sweet tea is the bees knees. Enjoy this one and savor each moment.

This was definitely an interesting beer to me and I honestly really did like it, the tartness adds a new dimension to the tea flavors that are present. I feel like I'd need to be in the mood for this but this is definitely fun

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left some specks of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sweet tea are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of sweet tea along with notes of ginger.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer reminds me like a sweet tea, except that it has more body and and the accents of ginger.

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 12/8/20, so 7 weeks old.

Ugly looking beer. Burnt orange/pale brown body with a fair amount of carbonation. Small off white head shrinks to a ring. Faint lacing.

Tea aroma, a little wheat.

On tasting, Weldwerks describes this as a sweet ice tea beer, and that's accurate. Honey and lemon touches are light. Ginger doesn't come through at all. Faintly sour, a little tingly on the tongue. Wheat weaves in an out.

Mouth medium, finish sweet tea, no sour wheat aftertaste.

Overall, enjoying this. Would be great on a hot afternoon, but nice enough at 25f in NE PA.

16 fl oz pull-tab can canned 12/08/20:

"Sour wheat ale" "brewed with black tea, honey, ginger, lemon and turbinado sugar." 5.5% ABV.

The black tea is pungent and gives this a nice flavour but it's not on par with the best tea beers I've had (most of which are either Earl Grey or Chai). The ginger and lemon complement the black tea but never feel too present...there's no ginger spice burn or anything. Honey I don't taste, but the turbinado sugar makes sense when I know to look for it...I find it but I doubt I'd detect it in a blind tasting.

Mildly sour, maybe a 2/10 in terms of intensity. Not too acidic or tart. It's tolerably sour and I could see even those that hate sour ales finding this a pleasant tea beer given how little sourness is actually present.

Not a great brew, or a top tier sour, but it's a nice drinkable mellow brew that mostly delivers on its premise. Well worth trying a can, but I'm glad I didn't buy more than a single.
