I am. I am very glad 2020 is ending. And I have the newly discovered WeldWerks to escort me from 2020 to 2021. I don’t think it’s a hot take that we’re probably still going to have some sour months in 2021, but this has afforded me more time with a book, a beer and the time to really enjoy all these fancy beers popping up on shelves. A bright beer, it smells of orange creamsicle in a way that pierces all the way back to my childhood, desperately lapping at a melting bar of ice cream as I perch in the front yard, taking in the hot summer heat. A lighter beer, it has a slight carbonation to it, but a smoothness that imitates a light shake or ice cream. No dairy here, though I’d believe it in a blind tasting. Sweeter, too, though for a DIPA it’s a different kind of sweet than the piney sugars that dominate the style.
