Double India Pale Ale brewed with Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Calypso hops collaboration with New Anthem Beer Project
Collaborations can spring forth as a result of any number of different reasons. New Anthem Beer Project from Wilmington, NC, first caught our attention when they joined Tree House Brewing Company the only breweries to have two beers earn a perfect 100 rating on Craft Beer Brew 's list of Top IPA's (in fact, only 10 beers have ever earned a 100 rating in that category, one of which is DDH Juicy Bits).
But we were also connected because New Anthem was looking into acquiring the same centrifuge (equipment that helps to separate hop particulate and create efficiencies retaining a greater yield of beer) that we ended up purchasing, and reached out to ask us for feedback. So for this collaboration, we wanted to give a subtle nod to the unlikely connection that brought us together... clearly we had to celebrate our mutual love for hops.

Pours a hazy orange with a small head and a little lacing.
Smells of resinous piney hops. Tastes of tangy bitter citrus with a bit of sweet pineapple/mango in the mix. Has a persistent bitter finish. This moderates as the glass warms. The alcohol hides well.
Medium body with light carbonation. Light clean mouthfeel.
This well-made brew is definitely hop forward and may too bitter for some.
