For our 20th anniversary we asked Jean Van Roy at Cantillon to make a special blend for us. This time we wanted something spectacular without fruit. Something hat would age beautifully in our cellar and that we can enjoy in 20 years from now. This is a blend made of 75% 30-month old Iris and 25% 44-month old Grand Cru Bruocsella styled lambic. We hop that this beer will continue to develop and mature over the years to symbolize the progression of Akkurat and our friendship with the beautiful Cantillon brewery.

Pours a clear amber with a little bit of soapy foam.
Smell is tart and funky with notes of hay, lemon, hops and a hint of tobacco.
Taste is tart, not sour. Very approachable, without being simple. Notes of hay, funk, citrus and peach, with the hoppiness of Iris and a mild bitterness that balances the tartness very well. I would have no trouble drinking a couple of big bottles of this in a sitting. There is quite a bit of depth and the hoppiness opens up a bit more towards the end with some warmth.
Mouthfeel is medium, almost flat.
Overall, a very drinkable, but deceptively complex beer. A masterclass in easy to drink Lambic.

2015 bottle.
Still. Golden orange color.
It definitely reminds me of iris and grand cru. Still, herbal, lots of floral notes, and earthy. Light mineral notes with a nice funk and cobweb flavor. Oak. Very small amounts of lemon citrus. Basement musk to round things out.
Light bodied. Flat. Ends fairly clean.
A really fun beer to try. Two of my favorites combined as one. This would age nicely.
