really good kettle sour here, the best of the couple of nerd series beers we had while visiting, seems like real fruit, or at least isnt candy fake red tasting and overly sweet, but i guess it could be like the stuff they put on belgian waffles too, lending some pink color to this otherwise clear and very delicate looking brew with a fizzy white head and big bubbles rising up. almost looks like rose champagne in the glass. nose is clean bacterial acidity with a light lemon note, juicy strawberry character, a little bit of fruit punch, cranberry juice, and pink florals swirling, hardly any grain or hops to speak of, and nothing from the yeast beyond the acid, really tight and light and clean. the flavor is the same, mouthwatering acidity, but not too sharp to drink, kind of minimal past the fruit, not a whole lot here, but the simplicity is appealing, and this sort of does a fruity mimosa vinous thing in the glass. strawberry is flavorful and summery, its refreshing, quick, and light the whole way, and as the kettle sours go in general, this one is nice. good beer for a hangover, feminine and kind of sexy, neat for valentines day coming up here too. this place is doing some pretty unique beer overall, well worth a visit when you are in reno!
