neat sour, less good and less refined than the strawberry one from the same series, but still some cool elements to this. it seems slightly more acidic, a little sharper, drier on the teeth, white vinegar emerging, white wine too, but the salt is a neat wrinkle, dries it out, gives it a refreshing gose-like appeal, and it keeps the prickly pear from being sweet, although it does have a bit of a perfume thing going on. this one is blonde, not real heady or fizzy, and not taking much if any color from the prickly pear. the nose is the bacterial lactic thing first, faintly lemony but also lightly sweaty to me, less clean than the strawberry. some floral character from the fruit is there, fresh and springy, and the minerals of the salt addition are appreciable. i also get not quite ripe green grapes, melon rind, and the lightest metallic note. the flavor is similar, its very earthy with the salt even if the grain is super minimal. slate and rosewater and iron, its neat, but its unexpected, and the sourness isnt as clean as i want it to be, which knocks this down a peg for me. its also under carbonated and very acidic, so the mouthfeel misses a little bit too. i can identify the prickly pear which is cool and the salt is a cool add, i kind of wish they had salted the strawberry one now! not my favorite beer in here, but it shows some real ambition. more of a summertime flavor profile too...
