32oz crowler. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left minimal lacing on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, caramel and toffee. Very malty and roasty with bitter piney hops. Not much caramel sweetness or citrus.

Poured from crowler into shaker pint glass.
A: Pours a clear orange golden hue with 2 inch frothy white head with good retention.
S: Pine resin, orange and caramel malt.
T: Oh…definitely off. Bitter and funky hops, flat, and dank orange. Something is definitely off.
M: Light body. Lots of off notes.
D: Hmmm… probably want to avoid this one. Or something might be off in the lines or this batch…somewhere along the process.

A fun beer to try thanks to a special keg brought into the local roadhouse. This one’s really easy to review. It reminds me exactly of an “Old Speckled Hen.” Not quite an APA but definitely an English Pale, which is why I downgraded about a half point. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth but lacking carbonation and hops I’d expect from an APA. But it’s an American British Old Speckled. Cheers!

Enjoyed at Voyageur Brewing taproom in Grand Marias. Pours a golden orange color and is quite smooth. Definitely get citrus notes and a minimal amount of head. Would have definitely liked a bit more body. Easy drinker.
