never heard of a sugar baby plum before, but i sure like what they contribute to this delicious berliner, maybe not quite as fruit forward as the nectarine edition i had side by side with it, but awfully tasty nevertheless. a faint pink color to this and a lot of haze and apparent density for the style, not as light as a lot of these look, and not a great head from the tap, but the color is pretty in the low light of their taproom. the aroma here is nice, some tang and some fleshy sweetness from the fruit, plum specific but mild in its intensity, along with a lot of wheat and the same lactic pucker and almost saison rustic saison character that i got in the nectarine one, whatever yeast this is fermented out with contributes. the flavor is a little more fruity than the nose, the plums are ripa and obvious, but cut a little short but the encroaching acidity, even more as it warms up. there is lemon and earthy bready wheat character here, along with a fuller mouthfeel, less carbonation than would be ideal, but i cant complain. a very cool brew, more interesting than so many one dimensional berliner types out there right now. id love to try the rest of the fruits in this series!
