5 August 2020 - Beer #159
Price: $3.99 at Clinton Gourmet Corp. in Manhattan
Appearance: 5 - a clear bright orange with a poofy white head. Pretty.
Nose: 3 - smells sour but somehow kinda flat. Is it possible to smell flat?
Taste: 4 - definitely not flat. I was surprised by the flavor. Up front it's just a sour Berliner, but the fruit shines on the back end. Oddly, I can really tell that the sourness comes from the base beer not from the citrus fruit, which is impressive.
Mouth: 5 - super bubbly and effervescent. Oo, there's the fruit in the back end again, haha!
Overall: 4 - not at all a run-of-the-mill Berliner. Not outstanding, but better than I expected, and very well brewed.
Cheers!
