Pours crystal clear with a vibrant creamy head. I expected more of a presence from the nose, although it hits all the catty dank goodness notes. The palate pops with a earthy, dank, orange pith and cotton candy character. Drying finish. It’s good.

Had on tap at the Public House in Brookline, MA 12.28.19 out of a pint glass. Clear gold with nice white head, nice lacing for the whole drink. Smooth with a bit of a bitter pine at the back end. I got a taster of that and a Pilsner (a smooth one), and they tasted almost similar save for that little bit of piney bitterness on the back end...the Simcoe I guess. Feel was pretty light. Overall it hit the spot but was nothing spectacular, a good drinkin' beer.

Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Price: $2.99
Purchased: Oct. 10, 2019
Consumed: Oct. 27, 2019

First time I saw this in stores. Picked up one for Bill on his and Kristine’s trip out here, and one for me too. Have generally been a big fan of The Hop Concept (and The Lost Abbey and Port for that matter) and Simcoe too. Was looking forward to this one.
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold clear color with three fingers of white frothy head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. World-class layered foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Simcoe, pine, garlic, onion, black pepper, dank resin, wet grass and herbal. Pretty much the same notes from the can, only better. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good, but still nice. In order got Simcoe, black pepper, bitter pine, dank resin, garlic, onion, wet grass, herbal, cat piss and grapefruit peel. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Just an outstanding Simcoe-hopped beer. Lovely. (Overall - 4.00)

Bought a 12oz can at Chuck's Hop Shop, Seattle. Best by: 01.24.20
(Slick early 70s TV label!)
Pours clear gold. Decent foam head.
Taste is rather plain. Inoffensive enough, just not the assertive "Simcoe infused" beer I was hoping for.
There is nothing "dank" about this one....and the alleged 7% abv even seems like that might even be a little ambitious....
Not good IPA value for the price ($3.29)

Pours a classic clear golden yellow with a nice white head. Active, great retention, decent lacing.
Nose is mildly dank and grassy. Not too strong but certainly danky west coast going on
Flavor leads with underripe peach and some of the sweeter tangerine/orange types, along with vaguely herbal and earthy bitterness. Bright jasmine and almost minty notes as well, very crisp/bitter in a classic wc ipa sense.
Mouthfeel is excellent, crisp and clean finishing.
Overall this is a great expression of simcoe, if you like that hop you will love this brew. A really nice classic wc hop treat. well done
