An English-style IPA. Heavy-handed on the hops, but tempered with a malty-sweet caramel finish - Dry-hopped and flavorful, with our IPA it's all in the Backswing.

This is somewhere between a west coast red ale and British IPA. Bitter pine and citrus hops. Little aroma. It’s a fine beer nothing special

Not bad for the style, more barleywine-ish IMHO!

Poured from can to glass. Dark amber color with a nice white head which dissipates, but leaves significant lacing along the glass. Smell was a bit surprising as was hit with a bready, malty smell with no real hop aroma. Taste is much the same with a bready, malty with sweet, almost caramel flavor. Some bitterness with a dry back taste. Not a bad beer if you like this style but not one of my favorites.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.

APPEARANCE: pours a hazy, amber color with less than one-finger, off-white head that slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, lighter carbonation, there is heavy lacing on the glass.

SMELL: brown sugar, bread then grapefruit and pineapple citrus.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose precisely, initially brown sugar, bread and pineapple citrus.

PALATE: medium body and lighter carbonation, somewhat creamy.

OVERALL: this is a good beer, I enjoyed the intense malt and hop profile, the 8% ABV is imperceptible, I would have this again no problem and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the style.
