Backswing Brewing Co. “Bugeaters FC Goalden Ale”
$6/12 oz. at the brewery on 27 December 2022
Look: A hazy deep gold body is capped by a short head of white foam. The head retention and lacing are average.
Smell: The aroma is clean with grainy and sweetish malt backed by a smear of not-so-specific hops although they don't appear to be citrusy or fruity at all.
Taste: Grainy and sweetish malt is livened by a light yeasty fruitiness that's like apple and threaded through with grassy, spicy, and herbal hops. A moderate to median bitterness (listed at 17.5) runs through it keeping it taut until it comes to a dry conclusion. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and gently crisp. As stated on the menu it’s “perfect for watching a game”. I appreciate the hops in the flavor but it's otherwise fairly lackluster and could be a little bit better balanced.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
