5 oz brewery pour.
Dark slick black with a brown head that lingers.
Aroma brings in order of strength : marshmallow, coconut, chocolate fudge, caramel, and coffee.
Flavor brings mostly coffee and piney hop in copious amounts, but I can detect some vanilla and marshmallow with just a hint of coconut. They are far-field outliers compared to the coffee and hops. Some ash, clay, and general burnt and unsavory flavors. Dark chocolate, burnt malts, and piney hop finish this out.
Feel is anorexic but pleasantly roasty. Some detectable heat but impressively hidden for the ABV. Roasty finish.
Overall, this could have gone a lot better. The adjuncts seem like gimmicks instead of actual flavors. A big let down for this pastry stout fan.
