Caramel, toast, and slight pine aromas. Raisin and delicate coffee flavors. Medium bodied with a light and clean bitterness.

Had the Lager Projekt Dunkles Bock at Tailgate Chattanooga's taproom on draft into willi becher, and also poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "11/15/22," into tulip pint.
Pours at first glance deep brown, transmitting some red light, but deep ruby red-amber with clarity when backlit, with a 1-finger light-tan head, with decent retention, before dropping to a persistent film, and pulling some lace down the glass. Aroma of some piney hops and caramel malt off pour, with malt continuing and toasted bread and dark fruit joining, and a little tart stone fruit as warms, but finally dropping to the residual caramel malt. Begins smooth, creamy, malty and a bit fruity, with a little hop bite to keep it moving, then growing caramel malt and over-toasted bread take over, carrying into a somewhat fruity, almost crisp yet still a bit sticky, malty, mouth-filling finish.
A beautiful beer with promisingly varied aromas up front, which ultimately delivers a lighter but rather traditional bock experience.
