Had Trees: Oui'd at Tailgate Chattanooga's taproom on draft into willi becher.
Pours deep, hazy gold, with 1-finger near-white head, with decent retention, leaving sketchy Belgian lace etched down the glass. Aromas of citrus, mild malt and a bit of resin off pour, then spice and stone fruit, clarifying to peach and pear as warms, and continuing with spice, and a little malt beneath, into tangy tropicals. On tasting, begins herbally bitter and citrusly biting but also sweet with peach, pineapple and pear, with the fruit continuing but the bitterness growing into an herbal, piney, and nearly unbalanced bitter finish, except for the continuing full, fruity mouthfeel.
A NE/West Coast IPA cross, this haze bomb clobbers you with varied bitterness and huge and multiple fruitiness from the first sip, before a West Coast bitter if not drying finish.
