My first lager in years, as I really have a hard time drinking this style. I don't like the smell or taste. It's also the only food or drink item that looks exactly the same before you consume it as when it leaves your body.
However, the brewery from whom I purchased a couple of IPAs and saisons (Folly, obviously), threw in two cans of this for free. So here I am.
Pours lifeless and ugly. The head completely disappears, leaving only a spittle of reminder on top. The nose takes me back to the years when I did drink lagers. I was a babe in the woods. It smells of grain, mostly rice and a bit of urine.
The taste is surprisingly not horrible. Of course it's not good and there is no way I am having the second can, but I didn't spit it out, though I might not finish it. A bit more bitter than lagers are, with a very dry finish. But other than that, it tastes of watery rice, with malt thrown in to make things worse.
