This beer was first brewed in 1978 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our brewery. It has a golden-yellow color with a slightly flowery yeast, honey-ish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer. Conrad Seidl, known as the Austrian “Pope of Beers”, on the Jahrhundert Bier: “It is a malty beer that pronounces the precious earthy quality of malted barley.”

Beautiful dark straw, finely cloudy to small degree, a finger of white head that kicks back to lasting cap, and hangs for the ride.

Nice bready/crackery malt aroma with just enough sweet, light noble hop spice, and super tasty, even lighter, aroma of lager yeast.

Get out of town, this is delicious. All the clean aromas are bright flavors in a super tasty sip. There are hints of lemony citrus, a nice hit of spicy hops that isn't at all rooty, but the star is a great flavored malt that is just sweet enough to power a sip that ends with just enough of every flavor to give a delicious liinger. Tasty with capital T.

Very clean flavors, beautiful finish that leaves me longing for another quaff, just the right body to be refreshing and also satisfying.

Great beer I so regret never having purchased the countless times it was within my reach. Highly recommended.

A 500ml bottle poured into a tulip shaped water glass at a BYOB restaurant.
Pours a lemon/straw color with a decent head that fades, and leaves a little lacing.
The toasted malt is light on the nose, a bit floral, reminiscent of a wheat/barley malt blend, and very flavorful and soft on the palate. The yeast esters produce a mild fruity flavors with some interesting aspects. Sweet notes of honey, banana, sassafras, and honeysuckle.
The hops bitterness is well done, nicely balanced, and adds to the complexity.
An easy drinking lager that is somewhat unique, with interesting and delicate flavor that makes you want another.

This is a beer that is more complex as you continue to drink it. Not nearly as simple as it seems at first sip.

500ml bottle L5223 into a tall Lager glass.
L: Pours light straw yellow gold with a soft 1" white pillowy head, lush steady carbo, head very slowly recedes to light skin and edge froth, medium-light 1/2 glass webby lacing.
S: Malty, a touch of honey, grains, new flower, lightly earthy.
T: Gently sweet malts, honeysuckle, a touch of yeast, it is very lightly sweet, sweet clover and yeast in the finish. It has very gently earthiness.
F: Smooth medium bodied mouthfeel with a medium length soft and lightly dry finish. Soft water feel.
O: Gentle, expressive, delicately delicious. Quite simple tasting overall and incredibly easy to drink. A beautiful no-frills German Lager that is far above premium. It is excellent.

Clear, golden color. Big, white head. Bread, honey, and some herbs in the aroma. Malty, balanced, and nuanced taste with pleasant hoppy bitterness at the end. You don't always need bold flavors in beer to make it great.

Single 500 ml bottle - encouraged to try after loving a local Dortmunder.
Was very cold from back of fridge and thus poured ever so slightly cloudy/chill hazed - golden yellow with a finger of fine creamy white head.
Again nose a little muted at first but as warmed nice floral notes, some white bread, and a bit of fruity spicy hops.
Taste is a bit bready, honeysuckle/floral sweetness, some cereal graininess with a finishing soft, mildly spicy bitterness.
Super smooth and clean medium mouthfeel with bright carbonation - exceptionally easy to drink. I am typically a one and done drinker, but could see how this would be simple enough to down a few.

Pours clear, gold in color with one inch head. Taste is cereal and honey. Light body, moderate low carbonation, slightly sweet. Average not good export lager. Nice and drinkable but I like others from the brewery.

Bottle 0.5 L.
Clear golden body, with large, creamy, white head, mostly diminishing with some lacing.
Light malty (grains and biscuits) aroma with nice grassy notes of hops; maybe some apple tones too.
Intense sweet/malty flavour with moderate bitter hoppy notes.
Light-to-medium body with a watery texture; lively carbonation; some metallic feeling in the finish.
Really enjoyable beer!
