In keeping with spring, our Maibock is a lighter representative of the class than the dark Doppelbocks from our house. Its golden yellow color and malty aroma go hand in hand with the sweetness of a real bock beer, tempered by Hallertau hops.
A handcrafted, high-quality strong beer as a typical representative of a traditional beer style.
We only serve this naturally cloudy beer specialty for a short time from the beginning of March.

Even though this is 7% ABV, the taste of alcohol is very prominent. It overpowered the otherwise great taste of this maibock. That said, it’s still pretty enjoyable.

Crystal clear golden amber brew with long-lasting foam in the curvy nonic. Sudsy and spritzy on the tongue. Tastes like sugar cookies, only not so sweet. The malty sweetness is, however, distinct. It even reminds me of a very clean Tripel. There is a boozy finish with tangy acidity, and the yeasty aromatics add to the interest. Overall this is a superior example of the Maibock style. Highly sippable, strong, and satisfying. From the 330 ml bottle purchased on the West Coast.

12 ounce bottle.
Pours a clear bright yellow golden with a finger of fine bubbly white head.
The nose is of grainy and bready malt, softer fruity and floral aromas; hint of caramel.
Sweet grainy, doughy bready malt on the palate with floral notes, some honey and a little hit of booziness. Soft post swallow bitterness.
Chewy medium full mouthfeel with a sticky and slightly boozy sweetness that coats. Satisfying and hits with the full force of 7% ABV.

Pours just on the dark side of golden, with a golden-tinged head. That big, malty, yeasty bock smell on the nose, with undercurrents of straw and fresh cut grass. The taste is dominated by malt, yeasty twang, and alcohol, with a hint of hops in the background and on the finish. The finish is long and complex. You definitely taste and feel the alcohol in this. Overall a complex, interesting, and tasty beer.

Clear, amber color with a nice, off-white head. Caramel malt, dried fruits, and bread in the aroma. Malty, moderately sweet taste with hoppy bitterness at the end. Very good.

Pours a clear copper color with a 1/2F head and negligible lacing.
Smells and tastes of sweet malt and bready yeast with a lightly hoppy bitter finish.
Medium body and very light carbonation. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel.
Nice beer but a bit too sweet for me if I am facing a half litre.

Weird boozy maple apple pie with cinnamon spice, slight bitter pine hops, and prunes, dates, and blackberries. Very singular living beer.

Enjoying a couple of 11.2oz bottles out in The 'Zebo on a lazy Fathers Day afternoon. Scored a 4-pack of this at The Beer Store in Nashua recently for $17.
Poured into a Willi Becher glass, it's a clear, vibrant medium-golden color. Has slow, steady carbo within and a solid 1/2" of rocky, frothy, off-white foam up top. The head lasts well, with decent lace on the glass. Has a bready nose with light, malty sweetness. It's a lovely bready, doughy aroma with hints of green apple and pear. Body is medium, with just a smidge of prickle on the tongue
Flavor mimics the nose - more light sweetness and solid malts. Has lots of fresh, doughy bread action. Finishes clean and dry with a bit of floral hopping. A solid Maibock! Prost!!

Golden amber with excellent clarity with scant one finger of whitish head upon pour from 12 ounce bottle. Not sure of the actual bottling date. Faint grassy and maybe some bready aroma. Malt backbone evident with flavors of bread and again, grass. Mouthfeel full with good lively acidity.

Delicious beer with a world class mouthfeel. Definitely malt forward. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Didn’t realize that it is the #1 rated Maibock until I consumed it. Easy to see why. I’m in the same U.S. state that produces one of the most widely available Maibocks (dead guy). I like dead guy, but prefer Ayinger.
