This is like a red ale with pumpkin and spices. It is a great beer first and then pumpkin... like... it is the opposite of a Southern Tier Pumking or whatever it is called. It is no pumpkin pie... overall one of my favorite not overly sweet pumpkin beers.

Deep amber color. Head dissipates fairly quickly.

Apple cider cinnamon sweet on the front, settles into a toasted pie crust. Maybe a little too toasted.

I'm getting a boozy note, which is surprising given the 5.8% abv.

Good to try for fall, but wouldn't become a seasonal favorite.

Bottle from the Drinkery Derry
Mostly clear amber copper color with a decent sized long lasting off white head. Pie spices and brown sugar rule the day here.

From the 650 ml. bottle dated 9/17/15. Sampled on September 19, 2015. Two days old so that is a fresh one.

Orange-copper color under a boisterous soft off-white head. Eventually it fades.

The sweet toasted malts are what I pick up first followed by the subtle but noted pumpkin spices of nutmeg and cinnamon.

About a medium body.

What I like about it is that it is subtle and subdued all around. The pumpkin spices do not overpower the beer but they have a presence that verifies it is a pumpkin ale. Crisp, clean finish. Nicely done.
