I had this beer on-tap in a pub glass at the brewery in Basel.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy ivory foam atop.

Smell: sweetish malt aroma with a huge hit of that classic "spicy" rye character. It's not bad, but a little one-note.

Taste: even more so than the aroma, there's a rye spiciness here that is the dominant flavor. Notes of clove and like a raw cinnamon kind of thing going on, along with a moderate bitterness. Not a lot of finesse, but a cromulent roggenbier.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: a decent enough roggenbier. Not really to my taste, but fans of the style should like this.
