Get some of the funk of the Big Rock yeast out of this, and it's a very, very good beer--crisp, dry, nicely floral and herbal hop present with a very solid malt backbone. Good colour, decent (not great) head retention, good body.
It's just that damned yeast, which is funky and strange, slightly metallic and slightly medicinal and weirdly plastic-y (?), and ultimately overshadows the malt and the hop presence of this otherwise very nice beer

473 ml can, picked up directly from the brewery.
Pours a clear, amber color with a thick tan head. Chunky lace, good retention.
Smell of some caramel malt, biscuit, grainy, and some earthy, leafy hops.
The taste starts with the caramel malt, then some hoppiness at the end.
Pretty restrained flavor, but I guess it is closer to the style, its not meant to overly hoppy.
Light to medium body, smooth mouth feel, dryish finish.
Not a bad beer, but doesn't really stand out.
