The dark is nothing to fear with a beer this smooth and approachable. Roasted malt counterpoints a chord struck with black currant, cherry and raspberry. It has subtle sweetness and soft bitterness that echo in the aftertaste. It’s hard not to dance to the tune of Midnight Rhapsody.

330ml bottle - a dark ale, made with cherry, black currant, and raspberry juice. Gee, can't wait!

This beer pours a clear (I'm certain), very dark brown colour, with minor amber basal edges, and two fingers of puffy, somewhat chunky, and bubbly tan head, which leaves some striated limestone cliff pattern lace around the glass as it gradually recedes.

It smells of cherry cough drops, raspberry pie, a further indistinct black fruitiness, bland caramel malt, some faint smokiness, and very tame earthy, musty, and dead floral hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, totally muddled dark fruity notes, bittersweet cocoa powder, fading ashy notes, and more ephemeral leafy, herbal, and grassy hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly restrained in its milquetoast frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and boardroom level smooth, with a wan creaminess seeping in as if by similar design. It finishes off-dry, the mixed frooty esters, malt, and cocoa thing predominating.

Overall - well, I gotta say, this offering provides a lot more flavour than yer typical Big Rock joint, but it still lacks in the complexity department. If what you seek is a simple, dark fruity ale, than look no further. Seriously, don't.

Pours a dark brown colour with reddish hues around the edges and topped with a thin beige head comprised of medium sized bubbles. The nose leads with dark berry fruit, chocolate and a slightly sweet malt. The taste leads with ripe currant notes and some sweet maltiness. There is not much else I can detect in the flavour. The fruitness is very forward possibly masking other flavours. The mouthfeel and carbonation are both in the medium range. A pretty good beer. More fruity then I expected.
