355ml can (glad to see Big Rock hasn't dumbed down this format - yet). Ooooh, well lah-di-dah - something to enjoy after a day on your boat, eh, Paul? Seems like this is one to have ON the boat, IMHO.
This beer pours a crystal clear, pale golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and fizzy off-white head, which leaves but a few specks of remote islet lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of sugary and tart apricot (y'know, those two-toned candies), gritty and grainy pale malt, further indistinct cereal notes, a hint of edgy yeastiness, and not much else. The taste is more zesty apricot fruitiness, candi sugar, salted white crackers, some peppery and earthy spiciness, consistent testy Old World yeast, and maybe a hint of weedy and floral noble hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly tame in its basic cable frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and pretty much smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a good time here. It finishes off-dry, the apricot character lingering well amongst the remains of the malt and spice day.
Overall, this is one agreeable and refreshing brew from a production concern I don't get to say that very often about. Good on Big Rock for crafting (as an old hen, now) a pleasant and poundable summer treat, wherever one might find themselves outdoors this summer #stillsweatingfrommowingmycornerlotinnearplusthirtyheat.

Well well well... It's nice to see Big Rock taking on this style, and the apricot accent is a definite winner. What I really like about this beer is that it stays true to the style, with an honest nod to the fruit accenting it. It's not much to the eye, but the lovely apricot odor and taste help carry a solid malt base. This beer could be in regular rotation this summer.

I have to admit that I am surprisingly into this brew--when I think "Big Rock", I absolutely *do not* think boutique styles like the Grisette. And I don't generally expect Big Rock to be putting out top-notch beer. But this is is tasty. The apricot flavour actually feels pretty "real"--rich, three-dimensional, sweet but not saccharine or artificial tasting, and there's enough dough-y, yeastiness and clove in the underlying beer to make things interesting.
I might like to see a bit more spice emerging from the base beer, and perhaps a bit more richness in terms of the body, but honestly--I want to kill a six-pack of this stuff. Like, right now. In the sun. Preferably on a beach. It's genuinely enjoyable.

355ml can poured into tulip 14/4/17
A clear golden yellow with lots of bubbles but just a thin film of foam that falls instantly leaving no lace
S apricots are strong, some spicy yeast, bubblegum, and some grains, basic but pretty good
t less fruit and more spicy yeast, again its not overly complex but the fruit and spice work well
M light bodied, pin prick bubbles, slick inside, spicy grainy finish
O it is what it claims, nice fruity notes and would work well with a hot sun and a lake
Another decent beer from Big Rock, they were few and far between at one point but I've had a few good beers from my local big boy recently and I hope the trend continues....
