330ml bottle poured into tulip 8/5/17

A nice color, ruby red with lots of bubbles but not much for head or lace

S cherry candy, raspberry jam, red wine vinegar, mildly funky yeast, smells more like cider/wine cooler/pop the beer

T less vinegar and more sweet candy like fruit, very jammy, OK I guess

M thin, enough bubbles to give it some life, slick inside the mouth with an oddly clean finish

O meh, not all that "Belgian" but the "fruit" part is there but not all that "beery" either

If someone handed me this saying it was a cooler I'd believe them......food for thought.....

It is more a wine cooler than a beer.

650ml bomber I picked up while on vacation in Calgary. No picture can truly do the color of this beer justice. Almost pomegranate juice red, balanced sweetness with more than a hint of cherry and raspberry coming through the creamy pink head. Earthy undertones balance the fruit. Finishes clean.

20oz pint, on-tap at the Hop 'n Brew, on a tentatively spring-ish afternoon in Cal-gaary... (Hi, Mel!)

This beer appears a dark, murky, dishwater ruddy amber hue, with one thin finger of loosely foamy, and yet eventually creamy pale pink head, which renders some inkblot lace around the glass as it gradually seeps away.

It smells of sweet and tangy cherry/raspberry puree, a bit of red wine vinegar, a musty green vegetal character, and faint grainy pale malt. The taste is more raspberry pie - the creamy fruit and graham cracker crust most evocative - cherry cough drops, and earthy yeast, with a soft leafy hoppiness.

The carbonation is moderate, just a trilling frothiness throughout, the body on the lee side of yer typical medium weight, with the fruit juice essence bearing down mightily here, and plainly smooth. It finishes rather off-dry, with an airy-seeming, well and good, fruit-bolstered graininess.

It's got cherry (with the raspberry running interference), and it's got adequate pizazz, so, I can't front on the portmanteau name chosen here. There's still more fruit than beer here, but, in the end, it's quite easy to drink, and enjoyable all the same, especially given the nascent warm weather, and sunshine starting to stream through the weird windows in this old house.

on tap at the Hop n' Brew in Calgary
A - showed up with some many bubbles all through the pint and no head, deep murky purple, basically looked like a carbonated smoothy
S - very similar to a sweet red wine with raspberry accents, smelled nice but not much like a beer
T - strong sweet raspberry to the point of being juice, tasty, but its not really anything like a beer
M - despite the many bubbles in the glass at first it was relatively flat, chewy and fresh, but again more like a juice or smoothie
O - hard to rate this because I don't even know I'd call it a beer, it was tasty but not what I'm looking for in a beer, a strange offering...
