Pine Creek River Valley Regular Lager

You know what you are in store for when the can proclaims the beer to be "regular" and the brewery won't even put it's real name on the can. Pale straw with a low white head that disappears almost instantaneously leaving a flat-appearing unappetizing beverage. The aroma is creamed corn. The flavor is extremely watered down corn with an acidic zing. It appears no malts or hops were harmed in the making of this beer. Thank god I didn't pay for this, but I don't appreciate the person that gave this to me.

Not gonna write a lot for this, it's just another cheap macro. I will say, I prefer this to MGD and Molson M (if that's any consolation). It's not THAT awful, but is still awful.

One thing I must note is that it does drink well when it's quite warm. A lot of these adjunct lagers taste like poison when they sit in a warm trunk for 4 hours, but this one was tolerable. Kudos to you, big rock.

Another can for the collection, happy to have found a single so I didn't have to purchase a 15 pack. Gold and yellow can, as close to no-name beer as you can get. Just where is Pine Creek anyways?
This beer is clear yellow gold color, with a short and bubbly white head. Foam quickly faded to a floating cap, no lace. It smells kind of malt, but more acidic burn comes through, especially after it has sat in the glass for a few minutes. The taste starts a bit grassy, overly artificial sweetness takes over. Seems to have a buttery finish, no real hoppiness. The carbonation is medium towards fizzy, light body, watery mouthfeel.
Overall, not very good but...must put it in context: low cost alternative pale lager. It isn't made to be overly flavorful, just easy to drink, cheap (regular) beer. In that it succeeds, but I won't be back.

Pine Creek Brewing gets the credit for this 355ml can. Part 2 of my foray into the near no-name beer offerings of the local liquor store monopoly.

This beer pours a clear pale golden colour, with one finger of soapy white head, which remainders a thin, paltry ring of lace around the glass as it quickly wafts away. It smells of somewhat buttery grainy malt, mild acetone (a product line theme, thus far), and soft weedy hops. The taste is grainy up front, in the way of the corn, but subdued at that, and abetted by a kind of mellow, stinky weedy hoppiness. The carbonation is moderate, the body light, but not as thin as its 'light' or 'non-regular' sibling, and adequately smooth. It finishes off-dry, the weak grain persisting, along with notes of paint thinner, and weedy hops.

Blah, blah, blech. Bottom of the barrel, WTF, Big Rock? Props at least for the restraint in not naming this a 'Premium' lager, but just a good ol' Regular one.
