I completely forgot about Cameron's and the slew of horrid beer I have tried from them a few years back. It was becoming a cruel joke.
So I managed to buy one from them again and, while not quite as gross as the others I have tried before (8 different ones), it once again isn't what they say it is.
This is NOT a New England IPA. At all. This is a West Coast IPA.
A NE IPA has dry hopping that deliver juicy, tropical citrus notes. It supposed to have a fuller, smoother body and less bitterness than other IPAs. It often has wheat or oats in them as well. And it's hazy as a result of it all. It has a dark yellow, light orange colour.
There is nothing of any of that in here, just a load of malt with bitterness. It starts out not as obtrusive as other West Coast IPAs, but as it warms, it gets worse. To the point where you just want to get it over with.
I need to remember. No Cameron's ever, please!

Pours hazy bronze with a wispy small head and a few lace trails on the glass. Tropical fruit, citrus, pine hop notes in the nose. A bit of cookie dough in there too. The taste is full of tropical hop notes with mango and pineapple in there. Caramel malts in abundance. The mouthfeel is full bodied with loads of creamy carbonation. The finish is highly bitter with a touch of alcohol heat.
A fantastic DIPA. Claimed to be the NE variant and that checks out. Worth A try.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 8.2%. IBU 67
Poured into glass with a 2 to 3 finger bubbly head that lasts awhile longer then expected.
Lots of tropical fruit flavours in this beer with a well it's seems like a very low bitterness level making it yes of course dangerous because the alcohol is almost hidden also
Overall I really like the beer very drinkable goes down nice and smooth and we'll balanced tropical fruit flavours
I would buy it again
Cheers

Review from notes. Part of the Cameron's 3 pack of new beers. Served cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - hazy dark gold with orange highlights. Finger and a half of dense frothy white head with good staying power and leaves behind a small trail of spiderweb lacing.
Smell - Citrus and plenty of stone fruit with peach making an appearance. Citrus is a mango, grapefruit mashup with some pineapple thrown in. Fairly robust nose.
Taste - Close to the nose, plenty of bitterness initially with grapefruit, then transitioning to mango and some sweeter and softer fruits like peach and passionfruit. Some booziness as well.
Mouthfeel - Fairly full bodied, reasonably boozy and moderate carbonation and dry astringent and almost spicy finish.
Overall - Another stellar beer from this Cameron's mixed pack with the Resurrected Rye and this excellent DIPA, it's well worth a pack to pick up.

473 mL can from the LCBO, one of three beers in Cameron's Stack Pack mixer. Coded J2421 (Sep 24 2021) and served slightly chilled.
Pours a hazy pale golden colour, with an inch of soapy, foamy white head situated atop; it holds together for five minutes or so, eventually reduced to a frothy collar and cap. Gorgeous curtain of ringed, sticky lace - looks very enticing in the glass. The nose is floral and fruity, with notes of stone fruit, mango and pineapple coming through for me; hints of lime, grapefruit, orange juice and lychee, too.
Now this is a nice DIPA, juicy and flavourful. Mango, nectarine, orange, grapefruit and passion fruit, layered atop a base of wheaty, bready pale malts and some light fruit cup syrup sweetness. A bit of earthy, floral hop bitterness joins in nearer the finish, which also includes hints of pine, with more stone fruit, orange and boozy, syrupy fruit cup sweetness lasting into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with moderate carbonation that gives a crisp, proper bite to this brew's smooth, fulfilling mouthfeel. Way easier to toss back than it has any right to be - the relatively low bitterness and expertly masked 8.2% make this a potentially dangerous beer, as you might just forget you're drinking a double IPA.
Final Grade: 4.17, an A-. I have nothing bad to say about Bad Robot - though I might've said it's the highlight of this mixer, if it weren't for the fact that the pack also includes their outstanding rye pale ale. Citrus, stone fruit, tropical fruit, berries - you name it, this hazy DIPA has got it, in addition to exquisite balance and unbelievable drinkability. Highly recommended, and I hope to see it available in single format sooner rather than later.
