Jungle of Love is a thirst quenching and tart tropical sour. Made with real fruit - papaya and mango! This fruit arrangement is reminiscent of the love we have of walking barefoot on the beach, waves crashing on the shoreline and the commotion of the wild jungle animals. Enjoy your new tropical getaway!

473 mL can from the LCBO; no canning date and served slightly chilled.

Pours a hazy, turbid golden-orange colour, producing two fingers of puffy, foamy white head that seeps away over the next five minutes or so. It leaves behind a decent swath of sticky, messy lace, in addition to a tight, frothy collar and filmy cap - looks good to me. Papaya on the nose, with hints of sweaty armpit, bready malts, grassy hops and mango; smells a little tangy, and slightly funky, but not particularly juicy.

It's a serviceable tropical fruit sour - wheaty, bready malt sweetness underneath flavours of papaya, stone fruit and lemony citrus, along with light lactic acidity. The mango becomes more noticeable on the back end, with papaya and peach yogurt dissipating into a mildly fruity aftertaste that is mildly sweet and tangy. Light-medium in body, with relatively low carbonation that gently nudges the surface of the tongue; feels smooth, soft and a little fluffy, with exceptional drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.61, a B grade. Cameron's Jungle of Love is alright, but there's still plenty of room for improvement: a dry hop treatment could do this brew a world of good, and the mango presence is a little too subdued IMO. It's also not that sour, so if you enjoy fruit beers but don't really care for sour stuff, this still might be worth taking a flyer on - after all, good papaya beers aren't exactly available in spades. I might return to this again, but it's not high priority.
