Pours black with a finger of caramel-colored head. Head retention is fair, with okay lacing left behind. Aroma is toasted malts, smoke, and oak. A smoldering campfire is a great point of reference for how this beer smells. Flavor profile follows the nose, with toasted malts, and a distinct smoky, oak taste. There is a bit of a caramel sweetness in the flavor profile as well. Mouth feel is medium thick, with a little graininess. Overall, this beer carries a presence, even at 6%. The smokiness is great, and not over done.

Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a one-finger, tan head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, cocoa and toffee. A slight floral aroma. It tasted of toasted malt, caramel an dark chocolate. There was a mild bitterness. It was crisp, sharp and smooth.
