The dark fruit notes and deep layers of caramelized sugar of our Dubbel ascends to dessert-like decadence with the addition of rich hazelnut and creamy vanilla flavors. This confounding confectionery creation will satisfy your sweet tooth without providing an over the top sugar rush.

16 ounce can into a goblet. Canned 1/5/22, had 5/4/22.

Pours a reddish copper color, semi opaque, with a quarter inch quickly dissipating head and some light, foamy lacing. Aromas of hazelnut, malt, vanilla, light caramel, a hint of a spicy aroma. Flavors of hazelnut, vanilla, malt, a cherry- like flavor, some caramel, a little Belgian yeast. It’s fairly sweet. Smooth, a thinner and lighter feeling medium body, appropriately carbonated.

The hazelnut flavor is good, but is quite dominant and covers up the Belgian qualities of the beer, and seems to contribute to the thin/light feel. The vanilla was too obviously a flavoring, as well. This isn’t bad overall, but not up to par for B of M.

6 oz mini-snifter pour at Lures Bar & Grille. Pours medium brown with a reddish tinge. Aroma is hazelnut, front and center, with vanilla, dark fruit, Belgian candi sugar, creme brulee, and Belgian yeast esters following. Taste is similar but not as in-your-face as the hazelnut aroma. Mouthfeel is slightly thin but not boozy. Overall it's very tasty if you're a fan of hazelnut beers.

Reddish dark brown pour with two fingers of tan foam. Huge aromas of hazelnut and vanilla with candi sugar, caramel, and belgian yeast, very nice nose but worried about how sweet the taste might be. Yeah I was right: hazelnut has some roast to it that helps because otherwise this is a sugar bomb with huge vanilla, candi sugar, and caramel running the show, bleigan yeast and dark fruit are whispers near the end. Feel is saturated with cloying sweetness, especially as it warms, otherwise a smooth medium body. A better air freshener than beer
