Poured from 12oz bottle into Chimay goblet.

L - Medium brown, hazy pour with thin light tan foam.

S - Brown bread, molasses, overripe fruit.

T - Raisins, sweet brown bread, sticky buns. Not oversweet, but a burnt sugar flavor.

F - Fine, thin carbonation, with a bit of alcohol heat. Coat the tongue nicely.

A solid offering. For a non-Belgian quad it's quite good. Would probably benefit greatly from cellaring to soften the edges.

From a 12 oz bottle sampled on June 6, 2026.

The pour is a reddish-brown with a small, short lasting tan head.

The aroma emits all those Belgian caramel malt candied and dark fruit characters you might expect with an earthy sort of under current.

Medium-full mouthfeel.

The taste is sweet and malt-forward with a bit of char but not an overwhelming spice character. There is a peppery finish that burns a little but quite tolerable. I think it is nicely done.

Draught 12oz snifter at The Brass Tap here in Baltimore: A VERY pretty pour - dark red body with a nice white head and LOTS of lace. Smell of raisins. Taste is a NOT entirely successful (YMMV) mix of malt & hops. Medium bodied with slightly more CO2 than I cared for. Overall...NOT bad for an American version of a Belgian quad?

12oz bottle with a smudged code that ends in 25 poured into a chalice at cellar temp 11.8% ABV per label. The beer pours bright, medium dark amber in color with mahogany highlights and khaki colored head. The head recedes to an irregular ring and tiny island. Minimal lacing. The aroma is mild with sweet malt and dark fruit. The taste is burnt sugar caramel, prune, raisin and cherry with a noticeable earthy hop finish and medium bitterness. The feel is medium bodied with just less that average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. The abv is fairly well hidden here other than a gentle warming of the tongue and tummy. Overall, very good American quad, if a bit more bitter than most the Belgians.

Muddy, brown color with little to no head. Rich aroma of malt, molasses, dark fruits, and yeasts. Taste follows the aroma. Moderate sweetness, warming finish.

Burnt orange in color with a light tan head. Aroma: caramel, ripe fruit & spices. Sweeter than expected. Flavors: fig, caramel, apple & ripe fruit, raisins & spice. Feel: a bit thin & slightly weak on carbonation but plenty of alcohol to tickle the tongue but not engage with the taste buds. Overall: not overwhelmingly sweet, very enjoyable.

It's back! Yay!!!
Anyway , after a long absence of all Weyerbacher beers .....

Dark reddish-amber, with 1/2 finger of very, very fine tan head.

Smell is toffee, and vinous dried fruit . (Fig & cherry?)

Taste is similar to aroma, but drier, with some spiciness and light bitterness towards finish. Sight herbal aftertaste.

Feel is smooth , with light, very fine carbonation tingle, and drying finish and aftertaste. Slight internal warming, but otherwise no indication of the high abv.

Overall, an enjoyable, easy-drinking brew. Glad to have it back. :)

Pours light copper with a 1/2" light tan head, which fades to a wisp. Minimal lacing.

Aroma of caramel, toffee, dark fruits.

Tastes of caramel, toffee, raisins, figs, Belgian yeast.

Light body, light carbonation. Semisweet finish.

A nice Quad. A bit thiner than I expected.

Nice Quad. Raisins, figs and plums with some malt. Paired with sharp cheeses or Brie and it gives of tawny port vibes.

Look: It pours dark amber with an off white head. Head retention is average.

Smell: It has aromas of plums and raisons. There a sweetness in the aromas with some sherrr elements. There are some earthly elements in the background.

Taste: It has plum and raisins up front. There are some berries in the background with some earthly elements. It also has strong malty sweet notes.

Feel: It has a medium full body with strong alcohol warming. It finishes a bit sweet.

Overall, there is a nice combination of aromas and flavors with some complexity.
