On tap at Manny Brown's Bensalem - Interesting grapefruit like bitterness, with a very smooth drinkability for a barleywine. I enjoyed this beer for the fruit notes, considering I am not big on fruit beers. I would reccomend this beer to people looking to learn more about the complexity of beer, and to teach them that high alcohol content DOES NOT mean heavier, darker beers.

"Weyerbacher R & R stands for Raspberry and Rye. It's 10.2% abv Rye Barley Wine aged with red raspberries. Extremely full bodied viscous palate, nice notes of rye tartness with aromatic thrill of raspberries for nuance."

On-tap at The Drafting Room Exton this special raspberry aged version of the Twelve adds a beautiful new dimension.

Appearance: served a dense hazed copper orange color with little carbonation and no lacing.

Smell: Warm alcohol, intense juice sweet malts, caramel and rye with a tart raspberry element.

Taste: Sweet thick viscous beyond all. The Twelve is too young. This tart berry addition is certainly a plus. Still very heavy with thick malts. 50% rye. wow. it is interesting.

Mouthfeel: one of the most thick sticky palate coating textures I have experienced in a beer.

Drinkability: This is certainly a sipper but the berry addition helps.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
