Tasted by a half-pint at the Hillsborough Hotel, where this beer is brewed in the downstairs mini-brewery that seems to have two trade names: Crown Brewery, and Wellington Brewery. Dispensed by a handpump w/ a sparkler.
A: despite the sparkler, the light golden hue comes with just a negligible head with very mild fizziness.
S: somewhat "un-focused" in aroma, featuring acidic-sweet fruitiness with a touch of lemon grass, butter, honey, etc.
T: very light bitter-sweet straw-ish flavour comes on top of a slowly developing biscuity maltiness; in the aftertaste, more grassy Saaz manifests itself, but serving as only a consolation prize for the lack of body and a clearer theme overall.
M&D: way too light and thin-bodied for a 5% pale ale (or maybe a cask-conditioned Czech Pilsner?); the balance is conspicuous by its absence, while the theme is muted. A rather bland product by this brewpub, although it was still well kept.
