This tastes exactly like an amped-up Schwartzbier. Color is dark reddish with plenty of white foam in the tall goblet. Aroma of grain and wet charcoal. Faint taste of malt, but mostly it's lots of dark, burnt malt. It's even a little sourish, like a dry Stout. Lots of hoppy bitterness but I still wouldn't call it a Black IPA. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at the bewpub.
