Burnt orange color, murky and dank very sweet with deep caramel flavor and soft pine on the aftertaste. Very malt forward, similar flavor profile to hopslam. Not what I expected but it was delicious.

Batch # 042, date of 10/08/15

Appearance - Pours hazy, and a light, dull orange in color with a half finger, white colored head. Fair retention, dying down to a thin, broken layer of suds. Lacing is mostly spotty with a few broken webs and a decent stick.

Smell -sweet, bready character with a hint of orange.

Taste - Follows the nose, Bready, toasty character with light citrus. Hints of earthy nuttiness, like peanut shell, maybe? Finishes with faint citrus pith and strong white bread sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Goes down easy enough.

Overall - Pretty malty for a pale ale. The description on the bottle says there's supposed to be a zesty grapefruit brightness. I'm not tasting that. Sweet bready flavor is the most prominent aspect here, with a very light citrus kick. It's decent, but nothing I'd wanna try again.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a nice looking pure pale orange color with a cap of a little white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Some light speckled sticky lace.
The aroma had some orange bitter rind with a little bit of white pear, orange and a touch of sweet clean cereal rounding out the edges.
The flavor tried to blend the sweet edge of those previously mentioned fruits to the cereal malt cleanly. Aftertaste leaned towards the hops, somewhat, but brought in that sweet cereal malt every so slightly.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied, seemed to sit just a touch under allowing a nice carbonation to ride nicely with the ABV appropriately.
Overall, pretty good APA that I could have again.

My friend Bob bought this for me, probably at Blanchards, and I was really pleasantly surprised, it is a really lovely pale ale. It has a great hoppy nose and a beautiful malty body, really a yummy experience. Frost Beer Works, which I bicycle past occasionally when in Vermont, consistently makes great beer!

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy fairly dark red color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light messy lacing. The smell had a semi-sweet citrus over top of some light caramel malts. The taste was moderately sweet carrying a light bitterness from the citrus to balance decently. There’s no aftertaste but it did have a light quick sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable feel about it. Carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Overall, not a bad APA, nothing special and it seemed it could be construed as a cross between an Amber ale and an APA. Could have again.

On tap...but I bought a bottle before. Now I'm drinking the bomber. Well it pours clear and a darker copper color. Dark for a Pale Ale. Aroma is of caramel malt and sweet, sugary pastry malt. Hops are quite soft. Flavor is more sweet than anything else. Not what I'm looking for. Decently drinkable but the pine of the hops succumbs to the various malty flavors. The sugary finish makes the body feel bigger than it actually is. Not my favorite take on the style.

all of the beer here was very tasty, and all of it was hoppy. this was one of the more balanced offerings, with a little bit more of a substantial malt base and not quite so tropical on the hops as some of their other ones. orange color to it, some hazy but still not super dense, with an inch of almost white head with pretty lace as it settles down. the aroma is all hops, despite more of a darker color and more grian in the body and taste, it really doesnt contribute much to the aroma. citrus on the hops, light bitterness, lemon and orange, maybe pear too. the flavor is more balanced, fresh cereal and slight toast grain flavor beneath the hops, which are still kind of gentle and have an almost candied citrus note to them. some residual sugar here helps contribute to that. very mellow bitterness in the end helps with drinkability in a beer that feels just a little heavy overall. well made and super fresh, but this is one of their least adventurous recipes is seems. a little overly malty for a pale, but i like the flavors this develops, especially as it warms up a little bit. these guys are making some real good beer right now.
