My first sip made me think of licorice.
It is opaque. It has more effervescence than I expected even after seeing the head.
The smell also makes the think of licorice.

Unique New England IPA. Color is a hazy orange-brown. Nearly no scent. Taste is spicy tropical fruit! Would buy again if I wanted a beer, they had this, and nothing I preferred more than it. Earns a 4.2

A- Tallboy pours into a chalice with a golden-apricot body and a thick, creamy-frothy head that rises up to about a half inch tall. Extreme head retention as the head just sticks around leaving plenty of lace spots and webs.
S- A bit hard to put my finger on specifics here as the hops are strong but it is hard to pull much contrast between the different characters. In general it falls between tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Pineapple, mango, grapefruit, papaya and pine sap come to mind.
T- Plays an interesting hop game between pine, tropical and citrus fruits with the pine notes really making the difference here and allowing this to be fairly distinct. Pine resin leads into mango, bubble gum, melon tangerine, grapefruit, orange and floral hop tones. A decent bit of sweetness from the grains and beyond that the malts and yeast are just platforms.
MF- The texture is puffy and creamy and the beer brings a moderate level of carbonation. A bit of a slickness to it and overall the body is at a medium thickness. Very light bitterness after each sip ends.
Well, gee, another really good hopped up ale out of the Northeast, New England USA. A distinct pine hop note interrupts the usual tropical citrus bomb juice and it really makes this one stand out a bit. With time it ends up tasting a bit more like fruit juice which is just a bit too sweet, but still great.

-clear, yellow pour from date-stamped bomber. 1 cm of sticky foam persists. Sugar, pine and a bit of pineapple in the aroma; ; the flavors match closely, more pine than fruit. A commensurate malt back makes a smooth blend that has a bit of sweetness, but hides the alcohol well.

Excellent DIPA. Research Series Batch #77 bottled 4/7/16. Pours very clear. Honey color. Nice citrus taste with hints of pine. Really drinkable for a 8.5% DIPA. Loved it.

Brewed on date 3/30/16 - consumed 4/12/16. A perfectly clear light-orange color, with a tall off-white head that leaves substantial lace. Aromas of citrus and tropical fruit mixed with a hint of pine. Taste is a sweet mixture of tropical and citrus fruits followed by quite a bit of pine/resin, and finishing with a very nice level of bitterness. Mouth is just right - medium bodied, nice balance of dry to sweet, good carbonation. Overall, super enjoyable DIPA from Frost.

Batch #77. From a 22oz. bottle, dated 03/30/16. Served in a tulip.
Pours a hazy, glowing pumpkin-orange color with a modest finger-and-a-half of pillowy crown. The lush foamy head doesn't last very long but sure is pretty while it does and it leaves a nice, tight ring of suds and some thin sheets of lacing down the sides.
Instant assault of peaches and mango when uncapped before it's even poured. Nose is of tropical fruits, jungle flowers and, oddly enough, barbecue sauce.
Tastes of sweet white bread and tropical fruit cocktail, hints of balsam, medicinal herbs and salt hay, a big bright mouthful of fizzy sweetness followed by a long, strong, satisfying, lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel is full-bodied and softly mouth-coating with ample carbonation.
Overall, a big fat DIPA which, while hiding it's abv very, very well, is strangely filling. While I don't think I'd want to drink more than a bomber in any given day, I can certainly see myself not wanting to drink more than a bomber in any given day every single day, pretty much forever. Because it's really pretty terrific.

Pours a mild golden hue with a frothy head into my glass. There's not many Frost offerings that I haven't tried and most have been solid thus far. Bottled 3 days ago (3/30).
Mango and passionfruit in the nose. I really need to learn how to differentiate between citrus fruits. Either way, it has a citrus vibe.
Incredibly fresh with a heavy dose of mango and light touch of buttery bread.
Very little alcohol "heat", even at 8.5%. Deceptively drinkable. Clean, dry citrus finish.
Better take it slow with this one! It's so delicious that you might just overlook the ABV. Frost Beer Works continues to impress and I'll be seeking out more of their offerings.
