This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a light transparent light brown color at the edges of the glass. A thin white to off white foamy head sits atop of the glass nicely and dissipates in a level mild pace. Lace clings adequately to the glass. The aroma starts with sweet and roasted coffee beans up front graced by some earthy hops, semi-bitter, but there for a light balance. Rich sweet roasted nuts and a light cocoa bean show some presence. The flavor leans to the sweet and roasted coffee bean. Sweet nuts, coffee and cocoa combine in the aftertaste to leave slight dry to sticky sweet and roasty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good for what it is. I would have again. Overall, I say English brown ale with an American twist of adding the cocoa bean and coffee bean. Great job Frost!

This was a limited release beer and I'd have to assume, experimental. I think Frost is on to something with this style, but this run I think missed the mark a bit. Coffee ale certainly nailed the coffee aroma, I could smell it as soon as I lifted the cap, the color was chestnut brown and clear, very little head. The taste was a little acidic, like a bright light roast coffee with malty undertones. What really let me down was the body, there really was none. I'd drink it again but I wouldn't go hunting for it. That said though I'd be very interested to see if they follow this up with other iterations. I think Frost is on to something, with a few more runs of this brew it could be a Sunday night favorite of mine.

This one pours a very clear and light brown color, with a small white head, and a little bit lacing.
The coffee aroma on this one is almost a little green, it's very roasty and earthy, with some caramel, and toasted bread.
This definitely tastes decent, but it feels like a little reticent. I'm wishing more a bit more malt complexity here. There's very little sweetness, with some slight caramel, and a crusty breadiness. The coffee flavor is decent, but a little too green and earthy for me.
This is pretty light bodied, with a normal level of carbonation.
This is not up to the usual level of excellence I expect from Frost- it seems they probably do IPAs the best.

Pours a reddish hue with a brownish tint. Earthy, roasted coffee upfront with semi-sweet chocolate. Rich, roasted coffee dominates every aspect. Slightly creamy finish with a touch of roastiness. It has the right balance of roasted coffee. Well worth a try.
