Shush scaled up into an imperial IPA. A rousing beer with pronounced citrus and hints of spice.

Alright, I liked Double Ponyboy enough that I threw Double Shush in the fridge to keep it cold while I finished up a can of the aforementioned... and now time to break out this one. Now this should be interesting because I don't know about the hop varietals used, but perhaps I'll be able to make some educated guesses. This is a little dingier looking than Double Ponyboy, with a ruddier color, but it trades off for even better head, legs, and retention than DPB. And DPB looked pretty great in that regard, so this is just awesome! Huge sheets of cascading foam and a completely hazed surface covered by a continuous, everlasting two-finger sheet of bone-white foam... damn, guys!
The nose is interesting. It doesn't have as much immediacy or gusto to it as DPB did, but it does have some unique and interesting elements that I enjoy quite a bit. For one, there's quite a bit more pine character going on here, with only a light hit of green dank/resin/onion-y earthy notes, and there's a lot less of the tropical fruit coming across as well. Some nice floral interplay and grapefruit rind alongside a chalky and spruce-like fading element. I'm going to guess Summit, Centennial, Citra or something. Could also have some Simcoe, or maybe Columbus. Also wouldn't be surprised if Galaxy was involved. Has kind of an obvious "West Coast" non-juicy IPA thing going on, but a little bit of playful fruitiness does come out here and there.
First sip has a strong earthy oniony note with a lot of bitter pine-y flavors coming to the fore. Slight plastic undertone toward the finish, but it seems to mostly go away the more this sits out and opens up, so it's not a big deal. Surprising grainy mid-palate with a transition into intense lychee, mango, and tangerine toward the finish. Not as long-lasting of a finish as I expected, but it's a good-tasting beer. Not really as much going on as DPB, but what is happening is fun and interesting. Candied orange, a little bit of honey, floral suggestions, and more grapefruit peel from the nose creating a very enjoyable DIPA. Less ethanol presence than DPB, but a tad less exhilarating. I'll give it to the people at Frost; they know their way around a solid IPA.

16oz can dated 3/17/23.
Pours cloudy gold with an inch-plus head of white. Plenty of tattered lacing and persistent retention with. Pithy citrus in the nose. Pineapple skins, mango pith, earth-rubbed grapefruit. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Earthy citrus on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. Unripe mango, grapefruit pith, faint pine bark. Finishes a bit rustic and pithy..

Pours dark orange gold color with a foamy 2 finger head that retains well. Aroma is moderately sweet dense citrus, very pleasant yet not too strong. Taste is just beautiful with orange and stone fruit. Solid flavor, very smooth and just perfect. Feel is very soft, effervescent and lightly boozy. Damn this a great beer! Best from Frost I've had so far.

Looks like hazy amber apple cider. Smells of citrus and some spice. Taste is tropical & juicy with a hint of spice. Has a mellow citrus lingering finish. It's a good brew while listening to Plush by Stone Temple Pilots - acoustic. Oh yeah.

Bottom of can: Rounding Error 4/8/22 opened and reviewed on 4/25/22
Look: Rusty orange golden color. Full and fluffy snow white foam cap stays high and solid with nice lace.
Nose: wildly aromatic with sweet, fruity, tropical hops. Creamy strawberry high toned citrus and vanilla with tangy wild berries.
Feel & Flavor: The feel is clean and juicy with a mildly soft texture. Spicy earth and citrus tanginess hits next with a light creamy flavored finish. Orange and cream, but with a light and clean effect. Soft spice and pepper gives it an almost hot finish with golden grains.
Overall: complex and rather easy feel, big hops and enough malted grains to hold it all down. The tropical fruity current from the hops and spice tang is the star of the show however.

L- a little bit of an opaque amber compared to the OJ look of your typical NEIPA, and a frothy white head
S- The tropical fruit aroma is strong on this one. Apricot and peach stand out
T - The peach and apricot are there, but so is black pepper
F - Heavy, maybe a tad too much. Not a session beer. They should can these things in smaller quantities.
Overall- a very good IPA but there are better in the style

Pours an opaque peach/orange. Thick, nectary mouthfeel. Tropical fruit flavors are strong with only a slight lingering bitterness. Similar to other highly rated NEIPAs. Not sure why this is in the Imperial IPA category when it fits better in the NEIPA category.
