Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark ruddy amber to brown color with a nice thin cap of a little white foamy head that slid off delicately. Some light lace ran here and there.
The aroma obviously had the sweet maple up front and full subsiding through the entire consumption. Light smoke, some dark chocolate, and a little bit of caramel, touch of nuts.
The flavor was moderately sweet with an ample amount of smoke trying to balance, but honestly, it really stayed in the background. Slight maple aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sesionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Smooth finish, some stickiness, but not cloying.
Overall, very nice maple ale, I see it's an amber ale on here, so, yeah, I guess I could see it as that.

16 oz can (Gramma's pancakes canned 3/23/18) poured into a tulip glass. Darker than normal for an amber, blackish brown with only hints of red, a two finger of tan head that moves to frothy lace in a few minutes. I get some of the standard amber aromas, but there is also hints of maple and coffee and a touch of smoke. The taste is right line, though malts dominate over all else. The mouthfeel is medium light, and the carbonation is sharp, especially on the finish. Overall, an amber worth trying, well made, and has a great nose.

Not as heavy as it looks. Nice sweet ale. Drinks real easy.
