On tap at McGillicuddy's, Five Corners, Essex Junction, VT.
The appearance was a ruddy burnt orange close to copper color with a cap of a little white foamy head that slid off fairly quick. Lace was here and there, but mainly pretty faint.
The aroma had some sweet mango, light Vidalia onion with a smooth sweet earthiness and ill grassy hop effect.
The flavor was moderately sweet with a danky to earthy punch with the earthy side of the Vidalia onion portion playing with the grassy hop movement. Mild aftertaste of the earthiness with Vidalia onion.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation was perhaps the lowest I've ever had by any New England styled IPA, I'm not sure if that was intentional or just the restaurant I was in. I could be wrong, but I've never had a "flatter" New England styled IPA. Super smooth tropical sweet to onion-esque finish.
Overall, aromas and flavors are on par, but if anything, the feel was luckily not cloying, there was some stickiness, but yeah, not sure if it was the restaurant getting close to the bottom of the keg or what.
