Had on tap. Midnight black, tan head. Coffee and chocolate make up the stars of the smell, and draw you into a taste complexion including earth, nuts, licorice, and raisin. Taste gets more vibrant the warmer it gets. Feel is full, smooth, malty, and sneaky crisp for style. Nice work here

Growler filled on 1/9/16; drank that same day in a tulip glass; my growler was labeled as 6.5% ABV; the taste of this beer really appears as it warms up, almost nonexistent to my tastebuds when cold unfortunately; I did not get much chocolate and coffee as advertised

On-tap 8/1/2015 at Armsby Abbey, in Worcester, MA served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep dark brown color, with a large dense beige head that fades very slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with a hearty roasted malt character followed by flavors of coffee, licorice and dark fruit. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly smoky and slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is very dry and slightly sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, there are better porters out there but this is still a very solid beer.

Black color. Graham cracker head that sticks. Very pleasant toasted cholcate malt smell. More coffee on the taste along with the cholcate malt. Smooth, but a little on the watery side.

Dark Porter with a thick light brown/caramel head. Really nice toasted malt smell. Taste reflects much of the same. Medium body/mouthfeel. Nice offering from these guys overall
